CFL to be aired on NFL Network
Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - The Canadian Football League announced an agreement with the NFL on Wednesday to bring 14 of its regular season games to the NFL Network.
Coverage will start with Thursday night's season-opener featuring the Montreal Alouettes and Saskatchewan Roughriders in a rematch of last year's Grey Cup championship game.
"This is great news for CFL fans living in the United States, a group that includessome ofour most passionate and dedicated fans," said Rob Assimakopoulos, the CFL's Senior Vice-President for Marketing and Commercial Assets.
"And it promises to expose our brand of football to a broad, new audience." One CFL game a week will air on the NFL Network through the November 5 Calgary-Winnipeg contest.
