World Cup Soccer
Cameroon vs. Denmark
Saturday, 2:30 pm Eastern – ABC

Cameroon and Denmark meet on Saturday in what is really an elimination game in the World Cup betting Group E. Both teams are coming off disappointing performances in their opening matches as Cameroon disgraced themselves losing to Japan 1-0 while Denmark was listless in a 2-0 loss to the Netherlands. The pressure is really on Cameroon since they still have to face the Netherlands in their last match in Group E while Denmark gets Japan.

Denmark is a -130 favorite at SBG Global with a total of 2 under.

Cameroon star Samuel Eto’o was a non-factor in the match against Japan and he let his head coach Paul Le Guen hear about it. Eto’o was put on the far right wing when he prefers to play in the middle. Le Guen was ripped in the press and by Eto’o so it will be interesting to see where he lines up on Saturday. Le Guen also had to defend his decision to select Pierre Webo ahead of Achille Emana. Things are so bad with Cameroon that players were reportedly fighting after the loss to Japan.

Cameroon has the talent to win on Saturday if they come together as a team. The key player is Eto’o. If he gets going then Cameroon can win, but if he continues to be a non-factor then Cameroon has no chance in the World Cup. Cameroon also needs to improve defensively as they have given up eight goals in their last three games. The three-way soccer betting line at SBG Global has Denmark at +140, Cameroon at +180 and the Draw at +210.

If the Netherlands defeats Japan as expected then the winner of this match between Cameroon and Denmark that can be seen on ABC would be right back in the mix. If Denmark wins they would have an easier route since they face Japan in their final match. Denmark has the better defense but they don’t have a great deal of scoring.

This match is really all about Eto’o. He is the one player who can make a difference. The defensive edge goes to Denmark in this game while the offensive edge should go to Cameroon if they are better organized than they were in their loss to Japan.
